Our Purpose

The SLPOA exists to support the vitality of the community of Sproat Lake Area D, which represents an excellent place to live, work, and play for owners, residents, businesses, and visitors.

The SLPOA will provide property owners and residents with a formal organization and structure to collectively identify issues of broad community concern through public meetings and other communication channels where individuals can:

  • express their views
  • discuss community concerns
  • seek collaborative solutions

The SLPOA will take the gathered information and be a conduit for passing on / advocating these views and concerns to the levels of government responsible.

Our Values

We believe property owners and residents should set our community’s goals. SLPOA respects constitutionally protected Aboriginal rights and supports reconciliation principles. We encourage all Sproat Lake Area D property owners and residents to join the association to increase recognition, influence, and credibility with stakeholders and government.

Our Mission

The Association aims to provide a forum for Sproat Lake Area D property owners and residents to collectively identify and discuss issues of broad community concern and develop collaborative solutions.  The Association will be a vehicle to advocate to the government and stakeholders for the identified issues and solutions.

Membership Benefits

  • Opportunities to discuss and collaborate with other Property Owners and Residents, provide input into addressing local concerns and issues, and develop solutions to be advocated to local government and district board director.

Board of Directors

The Sproat Lake Property Owners Association has an interim volunteer board of nine directors. The members range in age from members with young families to seniors, and most have lived or owned property at the lake for 30 years or more.
Our board, comprised of recognized senior leaders from various fields in the private and public sectors, is deeply committed to the association’s mission. They generously contribute their time, talent, and energy, ensuring that the association’s mission is always at the forefront of their work.
