Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Why did the Property Owners Association form?
In November 2023, property owners and residents of Sproat Lake Area D held a Town Hall meeting to discuss shared concerns about lake issues and local bylaws. During this initial gathering, participants expressed frustration over their input on local matters being overlooked and voiced a desire for greater influence and control over decisions impacting their community. It became clear that residents recognized the need for a more formal collective approach to enhance the recognition and impact of their perspectives in both local and provincial decision-making processes.

How is the Property Owners Association different than the Sproat Lake Community Association?
Over the last 15 years, the SLCA’s primary activities have been social, such as managing the Sproat Lake Community Hall and Pickleball courts or having social gatherings. They do not hold town hall meetings or conduct these types of governing activities.
